Clear Magazine - Second Skin
16 September 2008

Fashion can reveal or disguise and often completes both goals in one outfit! For this shoot by Clear Magazine titled “Second Skin”, the theme is about fabrics that act as a second layer of skin instead of “fashion” as such.

Using fluidity, transparency, layered tulle and fine pleating, against nude bodysuits, fashion editor Gisela Castillo has compiled a unique array of clothing that encapsulates this desire to cloth the skin in another layer that is equally as comfortable and tactile.

Photographer Ishi brings this realisation to life in a series of black and white and palely lit images that seem to caress the viewer with their 3D feel.

The models poses are emotive and dramatic and pull in the viewer with their powerful presence. – Kate Vandermeer
